The Challenge
On a family trip to Sicily, my four-year-old kept asking questions about the island's history. I knew nothing about Sicily - we chose it for the prices and because we like Italy. I started answering her questions through Gemini, and she loved the responses. That sparked an idea: could AI help me create something more lasting for her?
What I Built / Delivered
Used NotebookLM to create a full series of audiobook chapters about Sicily's history, designed for a four-year-old. The story follows three toy characters with Greek names who guide the listener through thousands of years of Sicilian history. Each chapter is age-appropriate, with a consistent theme running through the entire series.
The Outcome
A complete audiobook series my daughter genuinely loves. The real outcome is the proof of concept: AI can compress the gap between "I know nothing about this topic" and "here is a polished, age-appropriate educational product" into hours instead of months. Planning to build a dedicated website for audiobooks like this.
Why This Matters
AI Mindset starts at home. This project was not planned as a portfolio piece - it started because a child asked a question and the answer turned into something real. The same pattern applies at enterprise scale: start with a genuine need, let AI compress the creation process, keep the human judgment on what matters.
